Tangled Movie Review
Tangled Movie is a 2010 American animated musical film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The film features the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi and is the 50th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. The story is largely based on the German fairy tale Rapunzel by the Brothers Grimm. It premiered in theatres and in 3D cinemas on November 24, 2010. To date, it is the most expensive animated film. According to the Los Angeles Times, after factoring in six years of development costs Tangled cost more than $260 million to produce.
Tangled's terrific fun does not stop with its two leads. Every Disney animated movie needs its villain and in Tangled, it’s the Tony Award-winning actress Donna Murphy as Mother Gothel. Her presence fuses Tangled with a musical theater titan. Her song, Momma Knows Best, is the stuff of Disney legend that will have mothers everywhere adopting this score standout as their new theme song!

Tangled Movie Review

There are a few drawbacks to Tangled. It probably doesn’t need to be in 3D, but it doesn’t hurt either. Also, the ending of Tangled does not quite jive. Without even a mention of a magical power that would transform the entire story, the end feels a little hallow. But, with a film full of Disney musical stalwart Alan Menken's songs, Levi and Moore at the top of their games, and a story in Rapunzel that needs its due, Tangled is terrific.

The film was made in CGI although Tangled was modeled on the traditional look of oil paintings on canvas. The Rococo paintings of French artist Jean-Honore Fragonard, particularly The Swing, were used as references for the film's artistic style, a style described by Keane as "romantic and lush." Keane said, "There’s no photoreal hair. I want luscious hair, and we are inventing new ways of doing that. I want to bring the warmth and intuitive feel of hand-drawn to CGI."

Tangled Movie Trailer

Original music was composed for the movie by Alan Menken with lyrics written by Glenn Slater. Menken said he attempted to blend medieval music with 1960s folk rock to create the new songs. Several songs were written but eventually cut from the final film; "When Will My Life Begin?" replaced an earlier version called "What More Could I Ever Need?". Menken reported that that opening number went through five or six different versions. Elsewhere, Menken reported that there was originally a love song called "You Are My Forever" that Mother Gothel sang to Rapunzel in a motherly way but was reprised later in the film by Flynn in a romantic way. This idea was apparently replaced with the two songs "Mother Knows Best" and "Healing Incantation", although Flynn sings neither.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is a 2010 epic fantasy film directed by David Yates, written by Steve Kloves and based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. The film is produced by Rowling along with David Heyman and David Barron. The two parts form the seventh and final instalment in the Harry Potter film series, with the story following Harry Potter on a quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort's secret to immortality – theHorcruxes. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson as Harry's best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The film also features Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter and Alan Rickman.
The film begins as Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour addresses the wizarding media, stating that the Ministry remains strong as Lord Voldemortincreases in power. Severus Snape meets with Voldemort and the Death Eaters to inform them of Harry's departure from Privet Drive. Voldemort takes Lucius Malfoy's wand from him, as his own shares the same core as Harry's and therefore cannot be used to kill Harry.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Trailer

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’s Pre-production began on 26 January 2009, while filming began on 19 February 2009 at Leavesden Studios, where the previous six instalments were filmed. On 26 March 2010, filming finished in Pinewood Studios. However, Leavesden Studios was still occupied for further filming. The film in its entirety (Parts 1 and 2) was filmed over a one and a half year period throughout the United Kingdom and finished on June 12, 2010. Even though the shooting schedule was set at 250 days, the filming took 478 days to complete. Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson all openly wept on the last day, which seemed to end their ten years of work on the films. However, filming is not totally finished. Parts of the Epilogue of the 7th book are being re-shot due to a rushed impression the cast and crew had. Filming on the actual King's Cross Station was harder than they had originally thought. The re-shoots will take place in December 2010 at Leavesden Studios to give the film a proper ending.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 marks the beginning of the end while the movie has a lot of dark elements to please the fans of these magically creepy movies. This installment has been directed by David Yates and it has Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes playing the usual parts in the movie. As for the film, it truly is faithful to the book itself this time. After Dumbledore dying in the previous part, it is evil lord Voldemort taking control of the ministry of magic. In such a situation Harry, Ron and Hermonie are definitely away from school and in a hidden state.

Album Review: Lee DeWyze: Live It Up

"Live It Up" is the first major release of the current AI winner, Lee DeWyze, champion of Season 9. The album was released on November 16, 2010 by RCA/19.  The album has sold only 39000 copies, making Lee the lowest AI winner seller, but the lackluster season and the current american economy have the blame of that, so I predict Lee will have a more sucessful second album.

Read my review, buy the album and listen to some songs after the JUMP ...

He is the current Idol title holder but winning the season considered the worst (tough I think it was kewl) may not be enough to grant his success. The truth is that his album is underselling and Lee's now the lowest album seller among the winners, which is really a pitty. Lee might have not showcased all his talent in his first major release but we all know that Idols first albums always suck. That being because they record it while touring. As already said, the grungy and hard style has become a softer and milder version with nothing more than cliche love songs. I do love Lee's characteristic raspy and distinguishable vocals but with each listen, the songs lyrics seem more and more cheesy! There are some exceptions tough, name it his first single "Sweet Serendipity" or the beautiful "Brooklyn Bridge" in which all Lee's magic ,which made him won Idol, stands out perfectly. "Live It Up" is also an amazing song and "It's Gotta Be Love" features perfect vocals, tough it's lyrics stink! All things considered, "Live it Up" is a beautiful album, vocally, but is a major lyrical trainwreck!

If Duffy had a kid with Amy Winehouse being James Morrison the sperm donor, Aurea would be born!!! That's because the 23 years old Portuguese singer has such an amazing soul voice that's it's really hard to compare it to an only artist! Jazz, blues but mainly soul is where this wonderful singer feels comfortable and that shows beautifully in her eponymous debut, which was released on September 27, 2010. The grace of a brazilian supermodel and the voice of an Ella Fitzgerald reencarnation is what makes this girl stand out! She may not be quiet known in the UK or in the USA yet, but her record deal with Sony Music may make that happen! Get ready for Aurea, cause she's coming!

Detroit native, Alex Winston, multi-instrumentalist and singer by nature may have easily been adopted by the UK. The truth is that one of her songs has been featured on a Hyundai advertisment and since then all brits have fallen in love with her! Comparisons with Ellie Goulding are inevitable here and hopefully her carrer takes the same path as the latter. With an angelical voice and an eclectic style, Alex is set to make it big very, very soon. An autumn like style and a fascination for peacock's feathers and zebras surely make beautiful covers, but they also represent this gifted singer, don't you feel autumn-ish while hearing to her? An EP made in her basement (as it's title clearly states) and a wonderfully catchy and inspiring single, "Choice Notes", the reason of all the fuzz, is all that's needed to fall in love with her, and if that's not enough, some acoustic magic waits after the jump!

X Factor UK 2010: Top 7 Recap!

It's "Rock Week" and the preassure is on as each contestant will sing two songs!! An up-tempo and a down-tempo!! Plus two contestants will leave tomorrow night so vote and vote for your favourite, you don't want him/her/them to miss the Top 5!! And please VOTE FOR KATIE!!!  ... It's time to face the music!

UPDATE: Katie Waissel and Wagner are eliminated!! I couldn't be more dissapointed, UK, you let me down!

Read my recap and watch the videos after the JUMP ....

My favourites tonight: Katie, Matt, Rebecca and Cher. Katie did a wonderful job with both of her songs, she may not have the best vocal power but she did put it her own touch, plus it was really emotional. I loved Matt's second song, he might be back!! Best vocals of the night! Rebecca did an amazing work jazzing up those songs, it felt so Motown! And little Cher had her swagger back! That rapping was sick.

Who should go: Wagner and One Direction
Who will go: Wagner and Mary Byrne

Round 1:

Wagner

"Creep" 0901 61 61 101 -This is the most disgusting presentation ever! Still sucks but he's got point for not doing a medley for the first time. This was his best performance so far, obviously, mesured in the Wagner's sucking scale. Dannii said he connected with the lyrics, very accurate ...

One Direction

"Summer of '69" 0901 61 61 102 - They are singing again on that silly plataform with the silly girls behind them! I can't stand this anymore! Please, don't vote for them!! Louis and Niall still suck and Harry and Liam aren't improving. Zain is the only good singer, however they never give him lines. And WTF is Louis wearing!!!

Mary Byrne

"All I Want Is You" 0901 61 61 103 - Why Mary?! You were an instant favourite and now you have become in a boring old fashioned singer! This song is so dull! Mary is having lots of problems there, very out of tune and she looks really uncomfortable.  The last lines with the big notes, the fireworks and the dancers were an improvement but nothing special.

Cher Lloyd

"Girlfriend"0901 61 61 104 - Cher singing Avril Lavigne? Not convinced ... And is she squinting? I actually like this ... The rapping parts are excellent but when she sings the chorus or the verses she sounds awful. Is Cher aming for the teens? It was fun, not stellar singing but the rap was worth it!

Rebecca Ferguson

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" 0901 61 61 105 - I love this song! And I love how Rebecca is looking! Plus the stage looks amazing! Beautiful phrasing and tone. However, she looks a bit stif, almost bored. She needs a little more movement but her voice is the best in the competition by miles! The ending was kewl! If Rebecca doesn't win, I'll stop covering this show ...

Matt Cardle

"I Love Rock 'n' Roll" 0901 61 61 106 - This song choice is so wrong! Matt's fake vocals are back! He's sounding awful. This song doesn't fit Matt at all! He can't mantain the tone. What's Dannii trying to gain with this? The chorus is kind of good but still, this song is bad, bad, bad ...

Katie Waissel

"Sex on Fire" 0901 61 61 107 - Katie wanted to do this song after her grannys story? Really Cheryl? Or was it a strategy to eliminate her? I love Katie and she's doing a great work with this song. The issue here is that Katie's voice doesn't work on this big songs, he can't pull the high notes required for this song. She's doing her best with it, and I certainly love it, but it's not as good as it could have been.

Round 2:

Wagner

"Addicted to Love" 0901 61 61 101 - And Wagner is back to Horribleland! I abstain to comment on such awful performance!

One Direction

"You Are So Beautiful" 0901 61 61 102 - Oh, Lord! They are trying to get more votes by singing a cute song. All the silly teens may be peeing of emotion with this performance. This is making me sick! But their vocals didn't sucked that bad.

Mary Byrne

"Brass in Pocket"0901 61 61 103 - Poor Mary! She's making it sexy and it doesn't work! This song is so awful! I confess I never heard it but after this performance I think I'll never do it! She had some good vocals but the whole dancing and all the bum notes there were just dreadful! And it wasn't tending to karaoke, it was karaoke!

Rebecca Ferguson

"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" 0901 61 61 105 - Rebecca is trying something more dinamic. She says she wants to have some fun. OMG!! I'm so in love with this! The Motown spin on this song  really works, props for who did this arrengement! Love the staging, the backing singers and Rebecca's jazzy/soulish voice but were is the dinamism and the fun there? She didn't move an inch! But I LOVE her!

Katie Waissel

"Everybody Hurts" 0901 61 61 107 -Why are they changing the order? Katie deserved the pimp spot! And that was going to make her advance, now, her future here is at stake. Cheryl is really throwing her under the bus with this performance order. Katie is doing a really emotional performance but she's not sounding amazing. Sitll, I love her emotion and the way she's hitting the high notes in the chorus. And I do believe every single word she said ...

Matt Cardle

"Nights in White Satin" 0901 61 61 106 - Another song I've never heard of! But in this case I want to hear the original! Matt is doing the most amazing cover of the night! It's just him with a guitar! Love how he's sounding here, no fake vocals as in the previous. Matt has just secured his place in the final! The best performance of the night? No doubt about that!

Cher Lloyd

"Walk This Way"0901 61 61 104 - Cher's sounding so much better in this song! Love her cracking tone and the fast verses are really good! I'm not a fan of the staging or her look, but I love Cher, so this is another great performance for the record.  Maybe she's beggining to sound a bit monotonus for some people, but after all, all contestants start sounding monotonus at this stage!

And we are done! It's now RESULTS TIME! The first act going through is ... Rebecca Ferguson! And obvious choice .. Also in is ... Matt Cardle! WOW! Some emotion there! Also throguh is Cher Lloyd!!! OMG! Didn't expected it! The last act going to the semi-final is ... One Direction! Fuck! Mary Byrne, Wagner and Katie Waissel are in the Bottom 3! The act with the fewst votes will be eliminated. The act leaving the competition is ... Katie Waissel! NOOOOOO!!! Why?????!!! She should be in that sing-off! So sad! I want a record deal for her!!

Sing-off

Wagner

"Unforgettable" - Worst sing-off ever. He's certainly unforgettable, for being the worst contestant in X Factor history!

Mary Byrne

"This Is My Life" - Mary will stay that's so obvious. She could just faint there and the judges will eliminate Wagner. Congrats Mary!

We are down to the VOTATION! They are going to Louis first! Why? He will decide? That's more wierd! Louis is sending Wagner home! Dannii, Cheryl and Simon all send Wagner home! That never happened! Four out of four to eliminate a contestant. Finally, Wagner is eliminated! Thanks UK!

The Top 16 were back on last week's results show to perform their charity single, a cover of 1977 David Bowie's "Heroes". The song was released as a charity single in aid of Help for Heroes, a charity which supports injured servicemen and women. The song is really beautiful and it's a really good charity.  And I'm glad they didn't give any lines to Wagner or to Diva Fever!

We've only two more weeks to go!!! Our final 4 are performing number one singles!!! Who will be the act to miss a place in the final?! ... It's time to face the music!

UPDATE: Mahogany is eliminated!!!!! Watch the sing-off too ...

Read my recap and watch the videos after the JUMP ...

Andrew Lawson

"Uptown Girl" - This song is so dull and boring! I love the dancers on this performance! Andrew is doing an ok vocal performance but the song is so boring that it doesn't showcase his ability. I love the dancers on the floor. The end was really good, when he raised his vocals. But the thing with Andrew is that he looks so bored and uncomfortable while on stage, he shows 0 emotion, look at his face while reciving the judges comments, he isn't angry or happy, come one! Are you the ice man or what?!

Mahogany

"Heaven" - I'm so in love with them! Their harmonies are always beautiful and Guy has done an impressive work with the stage. The candles and the lights look so good! This isn't my favourite song, it's a bit plain, but the girls are doing a really good work with it! It sounds really pleasant and their voices couldn't sound more incredible, the lead singer has such a voice!! She could be a massive solo star but Mahogany really works for her!!

Sally Chatfield

"Just Like a Pill" - I'm not loving this performance. The stage looks wierd with so many carpets. Sally's voice, however is sounding incredible! Really powerful and emotional! And the guitarist she kissed is on stage with her! Sally is walking through the audience! She's such a rockstar! Sally has an incredible voice but it's not unique, I could hear that voice in any other big singer, name it Christina Aguilera.

Altiyan Childs

"The Living Years" - I'm not liking this. The chair and the chorus doesn't fit this performance. His voice is as good as always. But the staging isn't good. Plus this song isn't that good for him, a really bad choice. The church like windows are all wrong here too. Altiyan is an incredible singer but this just wasn't my favourite Altiyan performance.

Andrew Lawson

"Somethin' Stupid" - Another dull song for Andrew! Who is picking this shity songs? Oh, wait! It's Kyle! What are those dancers doing behind him? Wierd. This is so, so boring! I'm sleepy. His vocals are ok. Nothing impressive. This is the worst performance of the night by miles. I hope he's eliminated, he doesn't deserves a place in the final. Look, ice man again! He totally redeemed himself? Really Ronan? On the morning? Imagine the number of accidents that song will cause! Why are the judges praising him so much? He sucked!

Mahogany

"The Way You Make Me Feel" - OMG!! I'm so loving this! Again, amazing harmonies and vocals! Love the dancing, something none of the other acts can do. Mahogany are a complete act, they could start touring together right now and it would be one of the best tours ever! I really like the fact that the song is speeding up constantly. WOW! This is so incredible! My favourite performance of the night, and my favourite Mahogany's one! This girls are stars!!

Sally Chatfield

"Beautiful" - This seems forced. The dress looks beautiful but it's just not Sally. The vocal performance is really good but not amazing. She seems uncomfortable and I guess it's all the dress fault! A massive vocal performace, Sally can hit any note she's thrown, but the whole performance is a bit boring. I want the joyful and playful Sally back!

Altiyan Childs

"Blaze of Glory" - This is the first week I don't like any of Altiyan's performances. This song is really him. Very rocky and intense. But there's something missing, maybe it's because I don't like that song much. And why is Altiyan always the last one performing, what a way to pimp a contestant. They really want him to win. I love the fireworks and the fire! The vocals are excellent but I didn't like it, don't know exactly why.

So this is it. There's no judges decision this week. Votes alone decide who is eliminated. The act with the lowest votes will go home tonight. And the eliminated contestant is ... Mahogany!!! Can't believe it!! They were easily the best of the night! So unfair!!! Andrew should have gone!! Well, after all they'll have a really cool record deal!

Mahogany Final Performance
